Background
Gizem Cosar Kutluoglu comes from Turkey. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, she carried out her master thesis in Bioengineering with a focus on biomaterials at the Yildiz Technical University.
PhD project: Development of a dermal tissue based authentic collagen matrix for medical application
Gizem is a PhD student at MedSkin Solutions Dr. Suwelack AG and enrolled as a PhD student at Radboud university medical center. Her doctoral research focuses on the development of dermal substitutes to manage wound healing processes and tip the scales toward regeneration. The main goal of using such dermal templates is to reconstruct the architecture and molecular composition of the skin tissue and reduce/prevent the events that lead to suboptimal wound healing and scar formation. She has secondments at Radboud university medical center and Amsterdam University Medical Centre in the Netherlands.
Objectives
- Biomaterial development of an intact three-dimensional collagen biomatrix.
